THRUST TESTING JIG FOR LINEAR ELECTRICAL ACTUATORS

LOAD MONITORING SYSTEM Consisting of DIGITAL LOAD INDICATOR SL.NO. 784 And LOAD CELL, RANGE: 0 – 2000 Kg, SL. NO. 739

The Digital Load Controller is specially built to meet the requirements of SDTORK CONTROLS PVT LTD, PUNE for the measurement of load. The system consists of a High precision Load sensor which reads in Kg. The transducer is based on strain gauge principle. This senses the Load applied and gives corresponding milli volt output to the Instrument. The signal conditioner present in the Instrument will amplify this milli volt input to enable the processor to display the load.

The Instrument is micro controller based system. This has the facility to store the limit values in EEPROM (Electrically erasable programmable memory). Because of this the limit values entered by operator will not be destroyed even in case of power failure.

THRUST TESTING JIG FOR LINEAR ELECTRICAL ACTUATORS

DIGITAL FORCE INDICATOR

The micro controller based Digital Force Indicator for digital display of load sensor signal. This unit works on12V DC as well as 230 Volt AC/50 Hz supply

The indicator has many features and functions such as engineering unit selection, peak hold, clear and auto zero. It has 16 bit ADC, hence offers high accuracy of readings. The peak hold function designed in such a way that it holds maximum peak (Positive and Negative direction) force value in given time window.

The maximum force value gets stored till another high value does not occur during operation. The peak values get stored automatically even the user is viewing data on instantaneous mode.

TORQUE TEST RIG

  1. Test rig made up of MS Square tube 40 x 40 x 3 mm thick
  2. Main Spindle EN19 material with Harding + Grinding.
  3. Rotating disc with hub mounted on main spindle size (ø 300 x 12.5 mm thk).
  4. Loading brakes 2 no (each brake 350 NN cap) mounted on main structure opposite each other.
  5. Rotary encoder 360 PPR (pulse per revolution) fitted bottom of the spindle through timer pulley & belt to indicate speed & angle (one at a time).
  6. Total 4 no ball bearings 6212 (60 x 110 x 22 t) use top & bottom plate for perfect alignment of spindle.
  7. Total 2 nos thrust bearings 51113 (2 no) top & bottom side of disc hub (65 x 90 x 18 t) to avoid axial force on the disc.
  8. One nos Thrust bearing 51110 (50 x 70 x 14) fitted bottom of the spindle for locking spindle to bottom plate.
  9. In line rotating (Non Contact Reaction Type) torque sensor mounted on the top of spindle (Output Torque) Sl no:- M12/024.

PROGRAMMABLE TIMER WITH COUNTER

PARAMETER SETTING:

Press and hold the ENT button and switch ON the instrument. The display reads ‘RESET’ with Y/N?. The value of earlier number of cycle count will be displayed. To reset this value press UP key, the value becomes zero. Now press the ENT button. The display reads ‘OPEN TIME’ and shows the earlier set value of the open time. Set the open time required using UP/DOWN keys. (i.e., Opening time of the actuator). Now press the ENT button again, the display reads ‘CLOSE TIME’ and shows the earlier set value of the close time. Set the close time required using UP/DOWN keys. (i.e., closing time of the actuator). Now press the ENT button again, the display reads ‘SLEEP TIME’ and shows the earlier set value of the sleep time. Set the sleep time required using UP/DOWN keys. (i.e., interval between open and close operation). Now press the ENT button again, the display reads ‘COUNT SET’ and shows the earlier set value of the cycle count. Set the number of cycles required using UP/DOWN keys. (i.e., total number of cycles required to operate). Again press the ENT button. Now the settings are completed and instrument is in operational mode. The display reads START in the left side and CYCLES in the right side. The number of cycles reads 0000000.

Operating Instructions

Make all the connections as per the diagram. Connect the actuator to the instrument. Make motor and end position limit switch connections properly.

  • - Assume supply condition is OK.
  • - Set OPEN TIME is 20 Seconds.
  • - Set CLOSE TIME is 20 Seconds.
  • - Set SLEEP TIME is 05 Seconds.
  • - Set number of CYCLES is 200.

Now instrument is in operational mode. The supply OK indication LED glows. The display reads START in the left side and CYCLES in the right side. Cycles value reads 0000000.

Press Start button, the display reads OPEN ON and OPEN TIME 20 seconds starts. The open relay gets ON and actuator starts opening. When actuator opens fully it stops and the full open indication LED glows. At this stage, if the open end position limit switch contact is not getting, then the full open LED will not glow and the display reads OPEN ERROR and function stops. If the end position signal is OK, then the function continues. After open time 20 seconds completes the SLEEP TIME 5 seconds starts and display reads SEEP ON. This is the interval between Open and Close operation and during this sleep time the all outputs will be OFF and the actuator remain in open condition.

After sleep time completes the CLOSE TIME 20 seconds starts and display reads CLOSE ON. The close relay gets ON and the actuator starts closing. When actuator closes fully it stops and the full close indication LED glows. At this stage, if the close end position limit switch contact is not getting, then the full close LED will not glow and the display reads CLOSE ERROR and function stops. If the end position signal is OK, then the function continues. After close time 20 seconds completes the SLEEP TIME 5 seconds starts again. This is interval between Close and Open operation and during this sleep time the all outputs will be OFF and the actuator remain in Close condition. This one operation is considered as one Cycle and the cycle count display increased to one. After sleep time completes, again the OPEN TIME 20 seconds starts and the process continues. When each cycle completes the cycle count goes on increasing. The process completes when the cycle count reaches to the set Cycle Number value 200.

Note: The SPP OK signal should be connected from Single Phasing Preventer in case of using three phase actuator with three phase panel. If using with single the phase actuator just loop the common point and SPP OK input point. If this input point is open, then the display reads error while switching ON the instrument.
